This is a little history of how we came to build our present English Bulldog kennel in
southeast Alabama (photos below).

In the early 90’s Jerry had wanted an English Bulldog, and he finally got one.  His name
was Martin Van Buren and was known by all as “Frog.”

Jerry and Frog were inseparable.  As time went on, Jerry felt Frog needed a mate.
Suddenly there was a female English Bulldog, Anna Marie “Buffy,” young and beautiful.
Now, Jerry had two English Bulldogs.

Then, two years later there were English Bulldog puppies.  Buffy resided with her babies
in the laundry room.  As time passed, Buffy wanted a larger nursery for her babies.
Nothing would do her but to move to a spare bedroom.  There she graduated these little
bundles of joy that soon grew old enough to be adopted by other loving families in the
English Bulldog world.

Jerry had quite an ordeal trying to raise English Bulldog puppies in the house.  So he came
up with a brilliant idea and had a nursery built outside.  He did have the foresight to get
heat, air, and insulation and even a doggy door.  So, as Jerry was feeling like Einstein with
this creation, Frog started acting like he wanted a harem.  He expressed to Jerry that he
needed more English Bulldog females.

Without further ado, Frog had another mate, and another-- until suddenly, we had
outgrown the English Bulldog nursery.  During this time Jerry had built outside runs and
dog houses.

Out of the blue a light bulb went off in Jerry’s head again.  In 2002 Jerry and I were
having dinner at the Waffle House.  After dinner we reopened the ever- ongoing
conversation about “the perfect English Bulldog kennel” for our English Bulldogs.

As we talked about things that are needed to make a kennel user friendly, we started
drawing sketches on napkins of what it would take.  After several months of drawing and
talking and making change after change, we finally came up with what we have today.

In May 2003 work began, and we will better describe what took place with pictures:  two
nurseries (heated and cooled), inside housing for our bullies with runs outside, and a
bathtub to bathe our English Bulldogs.  We feel this is the most modern, user friendly and,
above all, English Bulldog compatible kennel in the southeast!

We hope that you agree that it is a great English Bulldog environment as we strive to raise
healthy, quality English Bulldogs with great temperaments.  The best friend you will ever
have!
